World urged to play role for Kashmir resolution

14 November, 2012

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has urged the world community to play its practical role in securing the Kashmiris' right to self-determination for durable peace in South Asia.

The APHC Chairman while talking to media men in Srinagar upon his return from New Delhi, said that the ongoing Kashmiris' liberation struggle could not be suppressed through perpetration of blatant human rights violations and imposition of restrictions on the activities of Hurriyet leaders.

Senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah addressing a party meeting in Islamabad town called upon the Indian rulers to create an atmosphere conducive for settlement of the Kashmir dispute through tripartite talks.

The Chairperson of Muslim Khawateen Markaz, Yasmeen Raja in a statement issued in Srinagar demanded withdrawal of Indian troops and revocation of draconian Armed Forces Special Powers Act from the occupied territory.

The leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League and Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Muhammad Yousuf Mir and Nahida Nasreen in their separate statements expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health of illegally detained Hurriyet leader, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo.

Body of a civilian was recovered from Qazigund area of Kulgam.

End.
