04 January, 2014
ISLAMABAD: In reaction to Altaf Hussain's speech, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said we will die but won't give Sindh to anyone.
Country's political leadership, including Bilawal, PTI's Shireen Mazari, and Khurshid Shah responded in strong words to MQM chief's demand for a separate province for the Mohajirs.
Bilawal responded through a Twitter message, quoting nineteenth century Sindhi military leader Hoshu Sheedi: "We will die but won t give Sindh [to others]".
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Shireen Mazari termed Altaf's presser as a ploy to split the country. Mazari went on to say that the British government should take notice and investigate into the matter.
Altaf is a British citizen. Leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Irfanullah Marwat termed Altaf 's statement as a conspiracy against Sindh.
He said MQM's old demand of "Jinnahpur" is being revived. Awami Tehreek's Ayaz Latif Palijo announced a province-wide shutter down protest against the MQM chief's statement.
