Whither media ethics... By Bakhtawar

13 January, 2014

It is pathetic to see that the media has, so callously, leaked the medical report of ex-general Pervez Musharaf. The reports were supposed to be confidential. I keep on asking myself how the media even managed to get hold of these reports in the first place. Now every television anchor and layman is posing as a cardiac specialist and is speculating on the merits of his ailment. If the army hospital had sent it in a sealed cover directly to the judges, as per standard protocol, then how has it become a public document?

Many villains in the country are still on the scene trying to deceive both the media and the judges right under their noses. I hope both these pillars of democracy will go looking for the real culprits.
