When will it end?... By Rameen

18 October, 2012

Our religion, Islam, advocates equal rights for all, harmony, love, peace and community values. It arrived at a time when man had dismissed civility in favour of barbarism and cruelty. Now those dark days seem to be upon us once again. In a very short span of time, we have moved from being tolerant, spiritual human beings to being bigoted robots who follow the commands of oppressive forces in the attempt to be someone of value — nuisance value. We have seen a young girl, Malala Yousafzai, shot and another young girl, Rimsha Masih, thrown away in jail for the alleged act of blasphemy. What can we say to defend ourselves when we do not even defend our children? This is not the Islam I believe in.
