Welfare of Balochistan people on priority: Farzana

ISLAMABAD: The government has been giving priority to the well-being of the people of Balochistan hence Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) is working on the same lines for the socio-economic uplift of the province.

BISP Chairperson Farzana Raja said this while talking to a delegation of PPP general secretaries from Baluchistan who called on her in the BISP Secretariat.

During the discussion, BISP's role in Balochistan was discussed and the members raised certain issues that needed to be addressed. Farzana Raja said under the Balochistan package, the BISP initiated nationwide poverty survey in the province whereas all the projects under the programme were being introduced in Balochistan for welfare of the masses.

She said the government was committed to bring masses of Balochistan in national mainstream of progress and prosperity and the BISP would leave no stone unturned in this regard. The chairperson issued directives to proactively resolve issues faced by the people of Balochistan related to the BISP.

Later, recently elected office bearers of People's Youth Organisation (PYO) called on Farzana Raja. She congratulated the youth members on their achievements and said that she salutes President Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur for steering the party according to the mission and aspirations of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.

The delegation of newly elected PYO members consisted of Rawalpindi PYO President Raja Inayatur Rehman, PPP Islamabad City General Secretary Shabbir Babar and Islamabad City PYO President Raja Imran Janjua.
