Regrettably, nothing is safe and secure in Pakistan today. Our cities are burning and our innocent people are being ruthlessly killed in this country of ours. However, this horrendous situation has made our Shia Muslims an extremely vulnerable, dehumanised, and threatened minority in the capital city of Sindh province, Karachi, and that of Balochistan, Quetta. Lamentably, provincial governments have made little progress in curbing the growing menace of militancy in the provincial capitals of Sindh and Balochistan. The enemies of humanity appear bent on destroying Shia Muslims. All violent means are being used by the extremist forces to physically exterminate the Shia population in Pakistan. It appears that the enemies of humanity, Islam and Pakistan are making all sorts of devilish and destructive efforts to divide the country on sectarian and ethnic lines but the passive, progressive and democratic people of Pakistan have upset their nefarious schemes and designs, and have proved that they cannot be divided on sectarian and ethnic lines. Civil society, enlightened groups and rational individuals should come forward to provide useful information to the security agencies to prevent crime, curb the menace of militancy and root out extremists so as to save humanity and Pakistan.
