CHARSADDA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Wednesday said that the verdict on Avenfield reference should be announced on Friday. While talking to the media before departing for Islamabad after a two-day election campaign in Karachi, Khan said that the verdict against Nawaz Sharif in the corruption references should not be delayed any longer.

Upon being questioned about Nawaz Sharif’s request seeking delay on verdict, Khan asserted that Nawaz was not special and there shall be no exceptions that law is changed for the likes of him.

Khan maintained the view that the former premier lied and thus no delay should be allowed as the nation is awaiting justice to be served.

PTI chief will be holding a rally in Charsadda later today as part of his election campaign trial. According to the party, Khan is expected to make power shows in 25 different cities ahead of Election Day (July 25).

Earlier on Wednesday Nawaz Sharif had pled the accountability court to delay the announcement of the verdict in Avenfield reference as his wife is on a ventilator since the past 21 days.

Sharif had said that he will not escape accountability like the dictator. The accountability court is expected to announce the verdict on Avenfield reference on July 6.
