Unemployment ratio in Pakistan is 5.7%: minister

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Youth Affairs Syed Faisal Sabzwari has said that strong economy was imperative for prosperous society and it could only be possible when maximum number of the people have jobs.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Youth job Fair at Expo Center Karachi, organised by Youth Development Department, Sabzwari referring to the repot of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics 2011, said that the ratio of unemployment is 5.7% in the country which is more than Central Asian and Latin American countries.

He said job fair would create new opportunities for youngsters in market. He said youth department was not only training the youngsters but also introducing them in market after proper career counseling.

He further said fortunately the ratio of youth in county is higher than other countries but unfortunately most of youngsters are jobless and ministry is taking every step to resolve this issue.
