Ulema should foster interfaith, religious harmony

KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, has called for maintaining law and order as well as cleanliness on the occasion of Eid ul Azha.
Chairing a meeting, he asked the administrative officers to ensure steps in coordination with the police, Rangers and officials of the local bodies institutions.
Siddiqui urged the Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners and officers of the relevant organisations to undertake effective planning and coordinated steps for the security and cleanliness on the occasion of Eidul Azha.
In a meeting with the delegation of the religious scholars, the commissioner also requested ulema to play their due role towards fostering interfaith and religious harmony and spirit of brotherhood and thus contribute their bit towards lasting peace in Karachi. He said that the positive role on part of ulema would help strengthen governmental measures.
