MIRANSHAH: A US drone strike killed three militants on Sunday in the restive tribal areas near the Afghan border, officials said.
The attack took place in the Dargamandi area, seven kilometres north of Miranshah, which is the main town in the North Waziristan Agency.
"A US drone fired two missiles on a militant compound, killing three rebels," a senior security official told AFP on condition of anonymity. However, an intelligence official in Miranshah put the toll at four.
Pakistan strongly condemned the drone strike in Miranshah. Foreign Office reiterated that these unilateral strikes are a violation of Pakistan's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In a statement, the Foreign Office spokesman said that Pakistan has repeatedly emphasised the importance of bringing an immediate end to drone strikes.
