US-India nuclear cooperation accord a blatant violation of NPT: Mushahid

NEW YORK, September 13 (Online): Ruling PML secretary general Mushahid Hussain Syed has said US- India accord on nuclear cooperation is not only a violation of Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) but also a sheer breach of US laws.

"Even Congress is concerned over US- India nuclear cooperation accord. Talks are underway on this count as it is a sheer violation of NPT and US laws. US will have to change 1970 act ahead of this accord", he said this while responding to a question in his chat with Pakistan journalists here Monday in media center.

He went on to say there were several issues, the president General Pervez Musharraf would talk about and meet the world leaders. President will attend a dinner to be hosted by President of Mexico in connection with UN Security council reforms. Pakistan had a vital role in UN, he remarked.

A summit level talk will be held between President Musharraf and Manmohan Singh on the eve of Wednesday dinner to review the process of composite dialogue and the steps taken by both the countries.

Following the All Parties Hurriyat Conference leadership meeting with Manmohan Singh, the meeting between both the leaders has assumed more significance, he underlined. These talks have no more remained bilateral and have been turned into trilateral. It is Pakistan demand that Kashmiris be associated with dialogue process, he maintained.

He informed that the President would address US Jewish Congress on September 17. This is very important address by any Muslim leader. The importance of this address has increased following the Pakistan, Israel meeting in Istanbul. Issue of Palestine will feature in the congress and dialogue among civilizations will take place.

President will meet several world leaders, he told adding however, General Musharraf will not hold meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Aerial Sharon.

The NPT is a Hoax

The NPT is a hoax and Indo-American nuclear cooperation is the latest evidence of that. I wonder what Mr. Kafi Anan and Mr. Al Baradei have to say about this. What wicked logic can they contrive to convince the victims of the super powers to stick to this unjust treaty and allow the super powers to blackmail them forever?

I am worried

As an indian, I am shocked and worried about how extremeists are gaining currency in my eibhourhood.

it was not 1970 act, I am not going to correct him, but if a leader of a PAKIstan doesnot get his figures right , what hope is there for the ordinary pakistani?

You are right

Yes! You are right, NPT was never been an act and never passed by UN General Council. It is an act of convenience for four Nuclear Powers so as to keep the technology closed to their hearts and thus no one can make nuke. Later on China was added to that club as USA/USSR cannot make chinese tow their lines. So, it is not mandatory for any one to follow by letter and spirit. Also, great nations that are self styled champion of this cause never ratified that act in thier own country. And biggest fraud is USA. They forced other nations to sign CTBT but miserably failed to ratify in their senate. So, poor fellow nations, NPT is for you as you cannot do anything but tow lines of USA and USA would never fully apply this very act on them.They are engaged in non stop modernising designs of Nuke contravening NPT in letter and spirit. But, irony is such now every one is accusing Iran for its violations on NPT but no one cares how China is getting away scot free by delivering nuclear secrets to Pakistan? NPT my foot!
