Two killed in Karachi train collision

KARACHI: Two people were killed and 10 injured when two trains collided near Gujjar Pathak early on Monday morning.
Karachi Railways Police Superintendent Arshad Kamal Kiyani said Shalimar Express, which was heading towards Karachi, hit the stationary Millat Express in the rear, damaging three of its bogies.
The engine of Shalimar Express was also damaged, however, none of its passengers were hurt, he added.
Kiyani said Millat Express's guard, identified as Ali Asghar, was killed in the accident while another unidentified person also lost his life at the Jinnah Hospital.
He stated 10 passengers were taken to Jinnah Hospital, of whom one's condition was stated to be serious. The other nine passengers were discharged after necessary treatment.
Kiyani said the railway traffic, which had been suspended after the incident, was later reopened after the track was cleared.
