SHEBERGHAN: Two police personnel and as many Afghan civilians were injured in separate incidents in Faryab province on Tuesday .

A police patrol was ambushed by the enemy in Qaramqul area of Andkhwi district in the limits of Faryab province, leaving two cops injured, the Andkhwi district governor Sultan Sanjar told the Afghan Islamic Press (AIP).

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack and their spokesman Qari Muhammad Yousaf Ahmadi told the AIP two cops were killed in the gunfight.

Meanwhile, the Faryab police spokesman Syed Masaud told the AIP two civilians were injured in an explosion in Ghormach district.
