Two banks robbed of Rs 4m in 18 minutes in Karachi

KARACHI: Robbers made off with Rs4 million from branches of the two private banks in separate bank robberies in different parts of the city on Wednesday.
As per details, police said at least five armed men barged into a private bank branch situated in Landhi area and snatched weapons of security guards. Later the armed men fled from the bank after looting Rs 3.9 million.
Police said the culprits completed their crime in mere 15 minutes.
In another mugging incident, another private bank was looted by armed men near Noorani Chowrangi within the limits of Ferozabad police station. Police said armed men entered into the bank and held security guards, bank staff and customers hostage at gunpoint.
The armed men loot Rs 0.89 million from cash counter and later rode away from the scene within three minutes. In both the incidents, robbers took along the CCTV footage with them. Cases have been registered at respective police stations.
