Two Taliban commanders killed

KANDAHAR: Two high-ranking Taliban commanders were killed in separate incidents in Kandahar province, officials said Friday. A Kandahar governor's office statement available with the Afghan Islamic Press stated a Taliban commander was killed and his accomplice injured in an airstrike in Moshan district in Panjwai district today (Friday). It added another Taliban commander identified as Hafiz Tayyab and his accomplice were killed while two more injured in Maroof district. The press release said the security forces seized two motorcycles and some arms and ammunition in these areas. A separate press release said the security forces released three captives from kidnapers in Panjwai district. It added three more persons were held on charges of abduction. End.
