Turkey to build 200-bed hospital in Kabul

KABUL: The government of Turkey would construct a research hospital at a cost of $283 million in Kabul, an official said on Monday. The 10-storey facility will be built on the premises of Aliabad Hospital. At a meeting with Minister of Higher Education Prof. Obaidullah Obaid, Turkey's Deputy Minister of Health Omer Faruk Koçak and Turkish Ambassador Basat Ozturk promised to build the hospital Ministry of Higher Education spokesman Mohammad Azim Noorbakh told Pajhwok Afghan News the 200-bed hospital, having 49 well-equipped polyclinics, would be constructed in the next five years. A contract for erecting the building had been signed and work on the project would get under way in the near future, he said, without giving a specific date. End.
