Turbat deprived of Internet facilities... By Shahzaib

14 September, 2012

In this fast and technically advanced era, Internet has great importance, and is considered the greatest development in the history of mankind. Unfortunately, Turbat (Kech) is deprived of this facility because of which its citizens are facing numerous problems. For instance, those students who want to apply for scholarships cannot do it due to the lack of Internet facilities. They face problems to get the forms, which are available on the Internet, scholarships like Global Ugrade, K L Kennedy Lugar Youth Exchange programme, Fulbright Fellowship programme Wells Mountains Foundation, Australian Scholarship and many more. Apart from this, the Internet provides sites for social interaction such as Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Nimbuzz, Whatsapp and so on. By virtue of these sites, people can communicate with one another, which creates mutual understanding.

Social and professional people are also in dire need of an Internet connection for emailing, studying and research. Though a DSL connection is available in Turbat, it is extremely costly, and everyone cannot afford it except the elite class. On the contrary, there is no facility of Internet cafes in Turbat. Overall, it is a serious issue for everyone in the province. Hence, I personally request the provincial government to lower the prices of Internet connections so that a common person could enjoy the facility, which has become important in today's life. If government takes positive steps regarding Internet facility, it will be a great support for the civil society of Turbat (Kech).
