02 February, 2014

ISLAMABAD: Police have received the orders of the special court hearing treason case against the former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf.

The police Saturday obtained the court's order that dismissed Musharraf's plea seeking permission to have medical treatment abroad. The court had also issued arrest warrant for the former president and directed the authorities to produce him before the court on February 7.

Inspector General Police Islamabad Sikandar Hayat has appointed SP Rural Captain (R) Ilyas as an implementation officer of the said orders. SDPO Rana Tahir and SHO Ghulam Abbas of Shahzad Town Police Station are also included in the team of SP Rural.

The police obtained the court's order that dismissed Musharraf's plea seeking permission to have medical treatment abroad. The court had also issued arrest warrant for the former president and directed the authorities to produce him before the court on February 7.

The sources said that the police would dispatch the court order to Musharraf in one or two days. It is pertinent to mention here that the court had set bail bond at Rs 2.5 million. If Musharraf failed to pay the bond then he may get arrested.

End.
