Traders to join PTI 'peace march' against drones
04 October, 2012
LAHORE: All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran (APAT) has decided to participate in an anti-drone attacks rally arranged by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Waziristan, however the traders body made it clear that it was not affiliated with any political party. A PTI delegation led by party Vice President Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry met with APAT General Secretary Naeem Mir at the APAT office on Wednesday at The Mall. The PTI leader asked the traders to join the peaceful protest demonstrations to be held in South Waziristan on October 7 by the PTI. The traders' apex body, showing serious concerns over the US drone attacks, decided to join hands with PTI in this regard and fully participate in the "peace march" against drone attacks in South Waziristan on October 7. Mir made it clear that APAT was a non-political organisation and worked only for the cause of traders. He, however, said traders would always support those political parties who kept national interest in view. He said drone attacks had ruined peace and economy of the country, and had caused death of thousands of innocent citizens. End.
