It is now clear that Maulvi Fazlullah of Swat is still asserting his power as Taliban influenced by him have claimed shooting and injuring the 14-year-old Malala, vowing to kill her when she comes back home after recovering from the severe head injury. And where is Fazlullah? Information gathered from wire services, Afghan government officials, media reporters and intelligence agencies suggest that Fazlullah and his accomplices are hiding in the Kunar and Nuristan provinces of Afghanistan, with the Kabul authorities very much in the know. Time and again Pakistan has taken up this case at the government and foreign office level, in efforts to ask the Karzai government to initiate action against Fazlullah and expel the militants so that Pakistan can try them in a court of law. Now that the world community has fully understood that Fazlullah is in Afghanistan, it is high time for the US, its allied countries and NATO forces to hand him over to his original country.
