Three political activists killed in attack on party office

HYDERABAD: Three workers of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement were shot dead and another injured in an attack on a sector office in SITE area. According to the SITE police, four unidentified armed assailants riding motorbikes opened fire at a camp outside the party's sector office where the workers were celebrating the party's 29th founding day. The assailants used automatic weapons, killing two workers on the spot and leaving two others injured, one of later succumbed to injuries at the hospital. Doctors at the Civil Hospital identified the dead as Azeem Shoro, Murtaza Kunbhar and Sher Muhammad Noonari. Their autopsy was yet to be conducted. The injured Wahid Bux Noonari received two bullets including one to the chest and one in the right arm, the doctors said. A large number of MQM leaders and workers including MPA Suhail Yousuf reached the Civil Hospital. The incident led to a closure of the markets. Large contingent of police and rangers were deployed at the crime scene. Police said they were investigating the motive behind the attack and also collecting evidence from the place. End.
