KABUL: Three children lost their lives when the foreign forces targeted and killed two alleged Taliban commanders in an airstrike in Baraki Barak district of Helmand province yesterday, officials said Sunday. The ill-fated minors were grazing their cattle near the site where the air support team of the foreign forces targeted the armed opponents in Naw Abad area of Baraki Barak district, the Logar police chief Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Liwani told the AIP. "The air support team of the foreign forces targeted two commanders of Taliban's Haqqani network – Mullah Zakir and Qari – while they were planting IEDs in the area. Both of them were killed in the blitz. Three minors who were grazing their cattle nearby were also killed in the airstrike. One additional minor sustained injuries in the incident," he explained. Meanwhile, the Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told the AIP no Taliban fighters had been killed in the blitz. End.
