Three, including doctor, killed in different acts of violence

KARACHI: Three people, including a doctor, were killed in separate acts of violence in different parts of the city on Wednesday. A doctor was shot dead within his clinic in Haji Sher Mohammad Goth within the limits of Malir City police station. Dr Rahim Bux, 45, a resident of Siddique Goth, Malir, was sitting at a clinic at Haji Sher Mohammad Goth, when three armed men entered and opened indiscriminate fire on him, resultantly he received multiple injuries and died on the spot. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities. DSP Rao Iqbal said the victim was MBBS doctor and his family member said that he had some dispute with Salari Community. He said Imran and Sarmad Salari might be involved in his murder. The police officer said the victim hailed from Balochistan and personal enmity might be the motive behind the incident. Later, police handed over his body to the heirs and no case was registered till filing the report. Separately, a truck driver, who was later identified as 35-year-old Subhan, was shot and killed in an act of target killing in Shirin Jinnah Colony within the limits of Jackson police station. Police officials said that the deceased hailed from Peshawar. They said initial investigation suggested that he was killed in target killings. His body was brought to the Civil Hospital Karachi for an autopsy. No case was registered till filing this report. Meanwhile, a bus conductor was shot dead in Malir No 4 within the limits of Khokhrapar police station. According to reports, unidentified men signaled a passenger bus to stop, dragged its conductor out and then shot him in the head. They managed to flee from the scene at ease while body was shifted to the JPMC for medico-legal formalities. The victim was identified as 28-year-old Anwar alias Pappu, son of Ghulam Hussain, a resident of Lasbella, Patel Para. Case could not be registered till filing of this report. End.
