Three fall prey to Karachi violence

KARACHI: Three people were killed in separate acts of violence here on Friday. In the first incident, a man was killed at Sector 12, Orangi Town within the precincts of Iqbal Market police stationAccording to police, two armed pillion riders shot and killed a motorist and escaped. The deceased was later identified as 36-year-old Rasool Khan, son of Haji Jamal. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy. He said that deceased used to run a home appliances shop in the same vicinity. He said that victim used to live in Toori Bangash colony and was father of seven children. The deceased hailed from Afghanistan. Police suspected that in initial investigation, monitory dispute was behind the killing. Similarly, a man was shot dead outside his house in Sector 51-B, Korangi area within the limits of Zaman Town police station.An official said that Anwar Baig, 38, son of Altaf Baig, was sitting outside his house in noon timing when two armed riders opened fire on him, resultantly he received multiple bullet wounds and was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for treatment, where he was pronounced as dead. He said that the man used to work as a tailor and police suspected that he was killed over a personal enmity as he had no affiliation with any political or religious party. Separately, an aged man was stabbed to death in Azizabad No.2 within the jurisdiction of Azizabad police station.Police said that Muhammad Haneef, 61, son of Muhammad Irshad, was sleeping at his quarter when unidentified culprits attacked him with an axe, resultantly he died on the spot.His body was brought to ASH for postmortem. The deceased was the resident of Orangi Town. End.
