Thirteen terrorists gunned down in Badabair attack

PESHAWAR – The security forces gunned down thirteen terrorists in the ensuing gun battle erupted after militants attacked PAF Camp in Badabair area while two security officials also injured in the shootout, ISPR said.
Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major-General Asim Bajwa said on Twitter that thirteen militants have been killed in an exchange of fire with security forces. He said that the attack was carried out by a group of seven to 10 terrorists.
Major Haseeb and a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) soldier have been injured in the attack and shifted to Peshawar CMH. The QRF quickly launched search operation in the surrounding areas of the camp to nab facilitators of the attack. According to 1122 19 others were also injured.
Taliban central spokesman Muhammad Khurasani has claimed responsibility for the attack on PAF Camp. “Our TSG unit (Fidai Unit) carried out the attack on PAF Camp Badabair,” said an email message of Taliban sent to the media houses and reporters.
Following the attack, a heavy contingent of the QRF reached the spot. Clearance operation underway till filing of this report, Bajwa twitted. The area has been sealed by security forces. The ISPR director general said that terrorists attacked the guard room at the camp early in the morning.
The QRF reached the scene and surrounded the attackers, isolating them. Bajwa confirmed that around seven to 10 terrorists had attempted to break into the camp. The terrorists had been engaged and contained around the guard room area of the camp.
It’s a non-operational camp and the PAF has no strategic assets there. Search operation has been launched in the surrounding area for the arrest of the culprits. Emergency has been declared in Peshawar hospitals.
