The price of the dollar... By Sarah
12 February, 2013
For the first time in the history of the country, the rupee has spiralled to an all new low against the US dollar, hitting the Rs 100 mark. This is a very sad and unfortunate date in our history. It has happened because of a decrease in our foreign exchange reserves. There will be no end to the misery of the common man in Pakistan. This devaluation looks all set to shoot down further, leaving us Pakistanis with the threat of hyper-inflation, reduced living standards and absolutely no luxuries in this already deprived life we lead here. The cost of all imports is bound to rise drastically and fuel and transport will shoot through the roof. What is the government going to do about it? SARAH GHAZI
