The need for a mother language... By Nizam
22 October, 2012
One's mother language is known to be a fundamental source of human intelligence. On the contrary, Balochi, being the mother language of Balochistan province, is not being taught in government schools here. In this respect, Sindhis remain quite fortunate in having the privilege of being taught in their first language in some parts of their province. The people of Balochistan are in dire need of being taught in their mother language since it helps students in the region learn more effectively. However, there is inadequate light thrown upon this burning issue by the media and all stakeholders. It is quite shocking that, instead of government schools, the private sector is getting involved in the teaching of the first language of the people of the province. It is, therefore, appealed to the authorities concerned to prioritise the issue of teaching Balochi in all government schools of Balochistan to define an agreeable course of knowledge. NIZAM-UD-DIN
