Thanking the government
23 January, 2013
I was one of the unfortunate among the 15,000 people who lost their jobs in the auto parts industry recently. I am the only wage earner in my family of seven. In this dire economic scenario it is very difficult to find another job and, without a regular income, it is very hard to make ends meet. However, now, as the government has decided to reduce the age limit of imported used cars and the auto vendor industry is back to its normal operations, I have been rehired. My family and I were overjoyed to hear this good news. Soon there will be a new addition to my family and I cannot afford to lose my job again. I am grateful to the government for taking a positive step that has resulted in the restoration of the fired workers to their old jobs. There are many like me who got their jobs back because my employer, the company that produces auto parts for car manufacturers, received its orders from the government. SHAHZAD WARRAICH
