RAWALPINDI: Army chief Raheel Sharif on Monday chaired a security meeting in Quetta and ordered special combing operations in Balochistan. In a tweet on Monday, ISPR Director General Lt-Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa cited the army chief as saying that terrorists were shifting their focus to Balochistan after their defeat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said the Quetta bombing was an attempt to undermine security in the province and sabotage the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He said the army chief had said that intelligence agencies could go to any part of the country to hunt down terrorists. Later, the COAS visited the Quetta Civil Hospital, Balochistan High Court and the Combined Military Hospital and met the injured people.
