Terrorism threats; foreign diplomats using plain number plates

04 February, 2013

PESHAWAR: Following terrorist threats in the provincial capital, foreign diplomats are using plain number plates in their vehicles instead of diplomatic number plates.

As terrorism looms in Peshawar, various foreigners belonging to consulates and NGOs are using plain number plates instead of diplomatic number plates to avoid any untoward incident in this regard.

In Peshawar, where anti-US sentiments run high and a car bomb attack on a US consulate vehicle killed two people, authorities said they were "cautious" about the developing situation.

The patrolling of police around the consulate in Peshawar was also stepped up.

End.
