A sense of complacency is creeping into the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) and it is probably for this reason that they have adopted an indifferent attitude, being least bothered about taking action on deceptive promotional schemes. One such example is the TVC of a particular telecom company, which offers its customers free on-net calls within Pakistan, twenty-four hours a day. However, the fact of the matter is that the total duration is 150 minutes. Apart from this, from November 1, 2012, these 150 minutes will be reduced to 50 minutes, which is again a point that is absent in the media and almost hardly discernible in the TVC. I request the PTA authorities to take notice of this gimmickry and ask the company to spell out the offer clearly and legibly. MEHAK BUKHARI
