Tauqir Sadiq handed over to Interpol

ABU DHABI: Former chairman Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) Tauqir Sadiq Tauqir Sadiq has been formally handed over to Interpol by the CID. Tauqir Sadiq, the key player in the alleged mega scandal of Rs82 billion, was arrested in Dubai by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team and Pakistani police. Investigating officer probing the OGRA corruption case confirmed that Tauqir Sadiq is in custody of the Interpol and said legal formalities are being work out to bring him back to Pakistan. He said that of Pakistani consulate plays its role than he can be bought back to Pakistan in 2 days. The police is also trying to send his front man, Sajid Ahmed, to Pakistan but legal documentation is needed for this. It may be mentioned that the Supreme Court of Pakistan had issued orders for the arrest of Tauqir Sadiq. He is accused of misusing authority, embezzling funds and causing Rs82 billion losses to the national exchequer. End.
