Students, police clash in Multan

MULTAN: Peaceful protests turned violent in Multan when students participating in a protest against the transfer of students and mistreatment by the school principal clashed with the police.

According to Media Reports, students turned violent when the police tried to disperse the crowd of student protestors at the general bus stand in Multan.

One police officer was severely beaten by a few student protestors, after which the police used aerial firing to control the situation.

The situation went out of control when the student protestors were joined by college students, who were demanding that the transfers of the students be taken back.

District Education Officer Secondary said if the demands of the students were valid they would be addressed.
