Stealing electricity... By Shazia

29 January, 2014

Electricity theft is the main reason for the misery we citizens suffer due to the frequent power outages. There is a large portion of our population that cannot be bothered to do the right thing, which is pay their electricity bills with honesty and integrity. Too many looters and thieves in this country partake of the kunda system whereby they steal other people's electricity directly from source. The most ironic thing in this sorry, sad affair is that the biggest electricity thieves are our very own government departments, which have failed to cough up money for the massive bills collecting dust, addressed to them.

How is it expected that we will ever climb out of this morass when our own representatives cannot partake in alleviating the suffering caused by the electricity load shedding? Only when these people will become true and honest leaders will we ever see a change in our condition. It does not seem as though that will be happening any time soon.
