Six killed in separate incidents

KARACHI: Six people were killed in separate incidents in the metropolis on Thursday. Meanwhile, the funeral prayers of two martyred cops were offered. The body of a man was found from a drain near ICI Bridge in Baghdadi area within the remits of Baghdadi police station. A 35-year-old man, Hazrat Wali, was killed in a firing incident during a clash in Zia Colony No 2, Orangi Town within the precincts of Mominabad police station. According to details, on Wednesday Wali had beaten his neighbour Shamsher's brother of his neighbour, so the next day Shamsher had a quarrel with Wali, who in anger shot Wali, killing him on the spot. Police, on getting information, reached the scene and apprehended Shamsher red-handed. The body was handed over to the heirs. Wali hailed from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A teenage girl strangulated herself to death at her house in Murghikhana stop, Gulistan Society within the remits of Shah Latif police station. According to police sources, 17-year-old Chand, daughter of Gul Muhammad, strangled herself to death over a domestic issue. Police on information reached the site and took the body to the Jinnah Hospital for medical formalities. Medico-legal officer at the Jinnah Hospital perceived it to be a suicide. However, the heirs took the body without completing the medical formalities. A man was crushed to death by a train bound for Karachi from Lahore near Landhi Railway Station within the jurisdiction of Landhi Railway police station. According to police, the deceased was identified as 35-year-old Muhammad Asif. He was the resident of Model Colony, Malir. However, the heirs did not reach and the body was shifted to Edhi mortuary. A 20-year-old youth, Muhammad Naeem, succumbed to his burn wounds, who was burnt at house in a fire near Gharibabad within the limits of Sharifabad police station. Similarly, a 28-year-old woman Mahwish, wife of Abdul Sattar, who was burnt in fire at her house, died at Civil Burns Ward during treatment. According to doctors, Mahwish was almost 32 percent burnt when she was brought to the ward. A 35-year-old Abdul Qudoos, son of Sharif, burnt severely in fire at his house in Street No 29, Korangi Sector 36-A within the jurisdiction of Awami Colony police station. Qudoos was shifted to the CHK in critical condition. End.
