Six killed in Jamrud van attack

LANDIKOTAL: Unidentified armed men fired at a passenger van and killed at least six people in Jamrud on Sunday. All the victims of the shooting belonged to Kukikhel tribe. Officials and locals said that the incident occurred in Chapari area of Jamrud tehsil. The sources said that the passenger vehicle was on its way to Jamrud when it was intercepted by armed persons who indiscriminately fired on it. Three people were killed on the spot, while two succumbed to their injuries in hospital, sources said. Five of the deceased were identified as Haji Sar Mir, Shan Ahmad, Rehman, Bilal, Abdul Hassan, while the identity a female victim could not be ascertained. The assailants escaped after committing the crime, sources said. The administration officials and locals shifted the injured and the bodies to hospital. Three persons have been arrested under the territorial responsibility clause of the FCR, the administration sources said. End.
