Sisters raped by Ghotki police: Sindh CM Qaim orders inquiry

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah while taking serious notice of the alleged rape of two sisters at Police Station Khambra-Obavivo District Ghotki has assigned SSP Ghotki Abdul Salam Shaikh to investigate the matter and suspended the SHO concerned with immediate effect.
The chief minister soon after the news aired in the electronic media, talked to DIG and commissioner Sukkur and directed to arrange for medical tests of the complainant girls for an impartial inquiry.
The chief minister also directed DIG Sukkur to supervise the investigation and ensure that the investigation is impartial. He directed that strict action must be taken against the police officials in case their involvement is proved in this case.
The MQM MPA Bilquees Mukhtar has also condemned the gang rapes by police officials, and demanded an investigation.
Bilquees said that sexual assaults on women have caused public outrage. It is a cause of great concern for us that police officials are involved in such a heinous crime. She demanded of Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad, Sindh CM Qaim Ali Shah and IGP to take notice and order and bring the culprits to justice.
