ISLAMABAD: Newly elected Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Friday said that Chaudhry Shujaat's formula was the best solution to resolve energy crisis and he would get it implemented.

Addressing a Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) parliamentary party meeting, party President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and senior leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi stated that resolution of energy crisis should be the first priority of the new prime minister.

They said that Shujaat's formula was the best and feasible solution and all provinces should put in their share in this regard over and above all differences.

The meeting was at Shujaat's residence in which Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf participated along with PPP leaders Khurshid Shah, Nazar Muhammad Gondal, Qamaruzzaman Kaira and Faisal Karim Kundi and thanked the PML leadership for cooperation.

Ashraf said that if the intentions were good then all problems could be resolved. He said that electricity load shedding was a major crisis and challenge, adding that steps would be taken for immediate solution to this problem in consultation and guidance of the PML-Q and through joint efforts.

Addressing the meeting, Shujaat said, "We had told President Asif Ali Zardari that we would support his candidate, whosoever it may be." He said that the PPP and the PML-Q would have to make joint efforts for solving the national problems.

Addressing the meeting, Elahi said that they were cooperating with the PPP in the national and country's interest. He said President Asif Ali Zardari had accepted this alliance from his heart and they would also jointly evolve strategy for future as well.

Continuing, he said that electricity load shedding was a grave problem, which should be solved on priority basis. He said that formula presented by Shujaat for resolving load shedding crisis was formulated after consultations with experts but PML-N and some other elements had sabotaged it.

Speaking on the occasion, Ashraf said that making an alliance was very easy but its continuation was a very difficult thing. He said that he would give credit to the Chaudhry brothers for continuation of this alliance quite successfully, adding that he had a relationship of respect with them. He said that future strategy would be evolved in consultation with PML-A members.

On the suggestion of the PML-Q member Shah Jehan, he assured that practical steps would also be taken for the creation of Hazara province. He also assured all the PML-Q members that due importance would be given to their proposals and suggestions.

The meeting was also addressed by Balochistan PML-Q President Jam Muhammad Yousuf, party Sindh President Ghaus Bux Maher, Shaikh Waqas Akram, Anwar Ali Cheema, Shehnaz Shaikh, Sardar Shah Jehan Yousuf, Ahmedan Bugti and other parliamentarians.

End.
