'Shoot-on-site' orders issued in Punjab during Ashura

LAHORE: Punjab police announced on Thursday that 'shoot-on-site' orders have been issued for terrorists during Ashura.

According to media reports, Outlining security measures during Ashura, DIG Operations Punjab Police said that terrorist activities are feared in Lahore, adding that terrorists can opt for indiscriminate firing, bomb blasts or suicidal attacks.

He said that participants of the main procession would be checked at four different points, adding renewed instructions were issued following yesterday's blasts in Karachi and Rawalpindi.

Punjab police official said that also route of the procession would be monitored through security cameras.
