Shariat court to remain non functional till the conclusion of talks with Shujaat: Ghazi

ISLAMABAD: Incharge of Jamia Hafsa, Maulana Abdul Rashid Ghazi has said Shariat Court (SC) set up in Jamia will remain non functional unless the ongoing talks with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain conclude.

Talking to Online Friday, Maulana Abdul Rashid Ghazi told applications are being received in the SC persistently. However, the court will not start functioning till the ongoing talks come to end.

Giving details of the talks, he informed it was resolved in the meeting with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain that government would reconstruct 7 mosques at its own expenses, which were demolished by the Capital Development Authority (CDA).

Both sides agreed on the point during the talks that razing of the mosques gave rise to current situation, he told. Therefore, the demolished mosques would be reconstructed in the first phase, he added. In the second phase the modalities for enforcement of Islamic order will be discussed.

We are of the view that the current system has become corrupt, he said adding this system has neither given any relief to people nor justice. Therefore, we will have to move to system of Shariah at every cost.

As soon as the mosques are reconstructed, the second phase of talks will start, he informed.

To a question, he said Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has assured he would personally ensure reconstruction of the mosques.
