18 January, 2013
KARACHI: A court has handed over Shahrukh Jatoi, main accused of the Shahzeb murder case, to police on physical remand until January 22, while acquitted his father Sikandar Jatoi.
On Thursday, the judge of Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) No 1, Ghulam Mustafa Memon, started hearing of the case.
Police presented all the accused of the case, including Shahrukh Jatoi, Siraj Talpur, Sajjad Talpur and Ghulam Murtaza Lashari.
Police requested the court that since the main accused had surrendered himself before police, Sikandar Jatoi might be released as there is not any evidence that he is involved in the killing of Shahzeb.
The court then ordered to release Sikandar Jatoi and instructed police to present Shahrukh in the court on January 23.
Shahzeb, the son of DSP Aurangzeb, was murdered on December 25 in the jurisdiction of Darakshan Police Station. Later, Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took suo motu action and ordered police to arrest the culprits.
