Shahzain Bugti's lawyer kidnapped in Quetta

21 April, 2012

QUETTA: Unidentified people on Friday kidnapped the legal adviser of Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) leader Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti from Satellite Town in the city.

According to police constable Nazakat Ali, unidentified people approached the lawyer, identified as Mukesh Kohli, in Satellite Town's Ghausabad Block-V and abducted him at gunpoint.

The Balochistan Bar Association and United Lawyers Panel condemned the kidnapping and also boycotted the court proceedings. They announced to extend their protest to the whole country if the kidnapped lawyer was not recovered immediately.

Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani has taken notice in this regard and ordered law enforcement agencies to ensure immediate recovery of the kidnapped lawyer.

Jamhoori Watan Party President Nawabzada Talal Bugti demanded that the chief minister resign as soon as possible, adding that the provincial government had failed in protecting the lives and property of the people. He gave a 48-hour deadline to the government to recover the lawyer.

Talal also said his party would take a tough stand in this regard.

End.
