Seven killed over land in Quetta

QUETTA: As many as seven people were killed and four others sustained injuries after an armed clash erupted between two groups in Kuchlak, some 15 kilometres from Quetta, on Monday. Apparently, the clash erupted on a piece of land. According to details, the clash between two clans of Kakar tribe in Kakar Colony claimed seven lives. "Police rushed to the scene and shifted the bodies and injured to Civil Hospital Quetta," a police official said, adding that casualties had occurred from both sides. "Initial reports suggest that the clash took place over a disputed piece of land, however, further investigation is underway to unearth real motive behind the incident," he added. Investigation Wing DIG Hamid Shakeel confirmed seven deaths and four injuries, adding that the situation was now under control. Five bodies were identified as Haji Abdul Bari, Muhammad Kakar, Abdul Zahir Kakar, Haji Faiz Kakar and Haji Muhammad Kakar. Three of the injured were identified as Amjad Kakar, Sarwar Jan and Syed Wali. Police have registered a case into the incident and investigation was underway. End.
