Seven ANA troops dead, two wounded in roadside bombing

KUNDUZ: A roadside bomb attack killed seven Afghan National Army troops and wounded two others in Markazi Baghlan district of Baghlan province last nigh, an officer said Thursday.
An ANA vehicle struck a landmine in Khowizai area of Markazi Baghlan district, resulting in the death of seven ANA troops onboard, said Janullah Safi, commander of the 3rd Kandak of 209th Shaheen Corps, in Baghlan province.
He said two ANA soldier were also wounded and their vehicle destroyed in the explosion.
Earlier, an army officer had told AIP that the blast killed two ANA troops and as many wounded.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, meanwhile, said the mine planted by their fighters left an officer among seven troops dead, adding the vehicle was also destroyed.
