School principal, son shot dead in Kharan

QUETTA: A school principal and his 12-year-old son were killed while his two daughters and as many nephews injured in a gun attack on their car in Kharan district on Saturday. According to police, Muzaffar Hussain Jamali was on his way to school along with his three children and two nephews when unidentified armed men, riding two motorbikes, opened fire on their car. Twelve-year old Ubaidullah received multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot while five injured people – Jamali, Arifa, Hamida, Saifullah and Abdullah – were admitted to a state-run hospital. They were then moved to the Combined Military Hospital where Jamali succumbed to the injuries. A relative of Jamali said the principal had been receiving life threats for the past couple of months. "He received several messages on his cell phone," he said on condition of anonymity, adding, "Those threats were brought to the knowledge of the local administration and they provided a security guard to school."
