Sartaj‚ Asif discuss Pak-US relations with US lawmakers

WASHINGTON: Matters relating to Pakistan and the United States have been discussed at a meeting between members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Defense Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif in Washington.
The American lawmakers briefed the senior Pakistani officials about the Committee's role in the US foreign policy meeting.
They lauded the immense sacrifices made by Pakistan in the global fight against terrorism. Pakistan's cooperation in facilitating the US and ISAF supplies to and from Afghanistan was also appreciated.
Advisor on Foreign Affairs and the Defense Minister emphasized the need for developing people-to-people contacts through trade and expanded economic links to build a bilateral beneficial and a forward-looking relationship between the two countries.
