ISLAMABAD: Taliban's chief negotiator, Maulana Samiul Haq, is likely to convey a message of Imam-e-Kaba Sheikh Saleh bin Hameed to the hardliner militants, urging them to adopt the dialogue path rather than armed struggle in pursuit of their demands in Pakistan.

Maulana Samiul Haq, who is also chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-S), went Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah last week where he met Imam-e-Kaba.

According to media reports, the religious party leader requested Sheikh Saleh bin Hameed to play his role to convince Taliban who have been engaged by the government in negotiation process aimed at restoration of peace in Pakistan.

Maulana Samiul Haq told a private TV channel that Imam-e-Kaba has urged Taliban that they must follow resolve all issues through dialogues and quit armed struggle. He said shedding the blood of Muslims in an Islamic state is wrong and unislamic.

In his meeting with Taliban shura, sources said, Maulana Samiul Haq is likely to convey this message to the militants.

Sources said the government can also invite Imam-e-Kaba to Pakistan, if required.
