A tired lot... By Ali

19 February, 2014

We keep hearing that a handful of miscreants are disturbing peace in Karachi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. No one knows when we will be able to get rid of thismenace; it has totally paralysed the state and the people of the country are tired of dealing with the prevalent situation.

The government should at least secure its important installations because these terrorists have infiltrated everywhere, whether it is the armed forces bases, jails or any other important places. This is an emergency-like situation and we must secure all our assets in a foolproof manner because such a situation could lead to total chaos and a collapse of the system. All those responsible for the security lapse in the case of the recent gas pipeline blasts must be taken to task because such incidents cause colossal damage to the life and property of the poor citizens. The government needs to seriously take stock of the situation and some quick decisions are needed to enhance the sense of security among the people.
