LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders on Wednesday lambasted the interim government over the arrests of the party workers. Saad Rafique called for their immediate release while Ayaz Sadiq challenged that administration should detain him if they have the courage.
Rafique added, “Our workers wish to reach Lahore Airport in a peaceful manner to welcome Nawaz Sharif on Jult 13, tomorrow.
“We are concerned over the sudden detentions of our more than 100 leaders and party workers. Whereas administration has ordered the arrest of other 300, this needs to stop!”
He demanded that the interim Punjab government and the caretaker prime minister should “immediately release arrested workers”. The PML-N, that his party, would announce its next plan of action by noon today. Sadiq, on the other hand held the interim chief minister of Punjab responsible and challenged, “If you have courage, I dare you to arrest me!”
