LAHORE: Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Yasin Azad on Sunday warned the PPP government against repeating the mistakes committed by former dictator Pervez Musharraf against the judiciary. Talking to the media, he said that lawyers were not standing with any individual, but they were rallying behind the Supreme Court and the judiciary. "It is not relevant whose son was involved in corruption but he should be punished accordingly," he said, adding for the strengthening of institutions, there should be rule of law in the country. Azad said the lawyers' community had strived against dictatorship of Musharraf and secured independence of judiciary with much sacrifices and now nobody could be allowed to hatch conspiracies against judiciary. To a question, he replied that there should be accountability of everyone whether it was the son of a judge or a government functionary. End.
